The software
The program documented here was written by its own author. It is published on the author's own site. We had no part in making it.
We are independent of that author and of anyone connected to them, as the disclaimer sets out.
The program is free to use. Its author states that macros compiled into standalone programs may be distributed and sold, with no royalties and no restrictions. That statement is the author's, not ours. It is one of the most useful facts about this software.
Trademarks
Product names and brand names here belong to their respective owners. They identify the software being discussed. Using them claims no ownership and implies no endorsement or affiliation.
Where another company's product is named here, that product belongs to that company. In one case we describe another vendor's software, because it is being handed out under a name that is not theirs. None of that is a criticism of the product itself.
If you own a mark used here and something is wrong, write to admin@tiny-task.org.
Where the files come from
Every file here is distributed without modification, repackaging, rebranding or recompilation.
Each file carries its exact size and its SHA-256 checksum. The checksum lets you verify the file's exact contents without relying on a claim.
If we cannot download a file and compute its checksum, we do not host it. The download page lists what that rule excludes and why.
Where the information comes from
Four sources, in order of how much weight they carry.
The program itself. Run on a clean Windows install, menus opened, behaviour observed. This is the highest authority here and it settles most questions.
The file. Version details, build date and checksum read directly from the binary and from the file's own properties.
The author's own published pages. Where the author has documented something, we use it and say so.
Nothing else. We do not restate other sites' claims about this software. That is exactly how the errors this site exists to correct got into circulation.
Where none of these settles a question, the page says the question is unsettled rather than filling the gap.
Images
Every screenshot on this site was taken by us, of the actual software running on a real machine.
No image here was taken from another website. Not from the developer's pages. Not from any competing site. Not from a vendor's press materials. Where a screenshot was not possible, a diagram is used instead, and it is labelled as one.
Diagrams and illustrations are our own work.
Corrections and their history
Pages here have been rewritten because a reader was right and we were not.
That includes the most significant finding here. It came from somebody downloading a file we had looked at and not opened. Where a page has been corrected, the page says what changed.
Corrections go to admin@tiny-task.org or through the contact page.
How this site is funded
Advertising, and nothing else. Nothing here is sponsored, no product was supplied to us, and we take nothing from any tool we name.
