If you believe something on this site infringes your rights, tell us and we will look at it promptly.

Send notices to admin@tiny-task.org, marked for the attention of Copyright Compliance Administrator.

Before you send a notice

Two things are worth knowing, because they resolve a good share of complaints without a formal process.

We do not modify or rebrand anything. Files here are software published by its own author and provided without alteration. Each one carries a checksum proving it. If you are the author and would rather we did not distribute your file, say so. We will remove it. No notice needed.

We mention products and trademarks to identify them. That is nominative use. No endorsement or ownership is implied. If you think a mark of yours is used incorrectly, an email fixes it faster than a formal notice.

What a notice must contain

To act on a notice we need all of the following.

Your name, address and contact details.

Identification of the work you say is infringed.

The exact address of the page or file on this site that you are complaining about. A link, not a description.

A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised. Not by the rights holder, not by its agent, not by law.

A statement that your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. That statement is made under penalty of perjury.

Your physical or electronic signature.

An incomplete notice slows everything down. We will ask for anything missing rather than ignore it. A complete first version is faster for everyone.

What happens next

We aim to acknowledge a notice within a few working days.

If the complaint is clear, the material comes down while we look at it. That is not an admission that the complaint is correct. It is the sensible order of operations.

Where there is somebody to tell, we tell them. We pass on your notice so they can respond.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address.

It needs your name, address and contact details. It needs to identify what was removed and where it was. It needs a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification. And your signature.

We will pass a valid counter-notice to whoever complained. If they do not pursue the matter, the material may be restored.

Repeat infringers

Anyone who repeatedly infringes loses access. In practice this site has no user-submitted content. The clause is here for completeness.

Bad faith notices

A false notice has consequences under the law in most places, including liability for costs.

We read notices carefully. Some takedown demands target a page for documenting something accurately, or for criticising a product. That is not a copyright matter, and it will be treated accordingly.

For anything that is not copyright

Corrections, factual disputes and general complaints go to the contact page instead. Most disagreements here are about accuracy, not ownership. Those are usually settled in one email.

Our wider position on trademarks and licensing is on the credits page. The disclaimer sets out our relationship with the software documented here.

This policy is governed by the law of United States.
