This site is operated by TinyTask Reference, and questions about this policy go to admin@tiny-task.org.

The short version. The site keeps standard server logs. It uses analytics to see which pages are read. It shows advertising. There are no accounts, no logins and no newsletter, so nothing here builds a profile of you by name.

What is collected

Server logs. Every website records requests. A log holds your IP address, your browser and device, the page requested, the page you came from, and the time. Logs keep the site working and help us look into abuse.

Analytics. We use analytics to see which pages are read and how people arrive. This is aggregate reporting about pages, not about individuals.

Advertising. Ads here are served by Google, using its automatic placement product. Google and its partners may set cookies and use identifiers to choose and measure ads. That processing is Google's, under Google's own policies. This site has no access to it.

The contact form. If you write to us, we receive what you send: your name, email address and message. Nothing else.

What is not collected

No accounts, no passwords, no payment details. Nothing is sold to anyone. There is no newsletter and no mailing list. We do not try to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine analytics with anything else to do so.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser.

Necessary cookies keep the site functioning and record your cookie choice. These are always present.

Analytics cookies count visits and page views.

Advertising cookies are set by Google and its partners. They choose ads and measure them.

Where the law requires consent, analytics and advertising cookies are not set until you give it. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time. Use the cookie settings link in the footer. Your browser can block or delete cookies too, and that changes nothing here except the ads you see.

Google describes its own advertising cookies and your controls over them in its advertising policies. You can reach those through the ad settings in your Google account.

If you are in the UK or the EU

The lawful bases are these. Server logs and necessary cookies rest on legitimate interests, namely keeping the site available and secure. Analytics and advertising cookies rest on your consent. Contact messages rest on our interest in answering you.

You have several rights. Ask what we hold about you. Have it corrected or deleted. Object to processing based on legitimate interests. Restrict processing. Receive your data in a portable form. Withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, write to admin@tiny-task.org. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are in California

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for anything of value. Ads here are served by Google, and Google's own disclosures and controls apply to that processing.

You may ask what is collected, have it deleted, and have it corrected. Write to admin@tiny-task.org. Using these rights will not get you a worse experience here. The site treats every visitor identically.

How long anything is kept

Server logs are kept for a short operational period, then discarded. Analytics data follows the retention setting in the analytics product, set to the shortest practical period. Contact messages are kept while a conversation is open and deleted once it ends.

Children

This site is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to admin@tiny-task.org and it will be deleted.

Some pages here answer questions younger readers often ask. Those pages are written with that audience in mind. They collect nothing that any other page does not.

Other sites

Pages here name other software and services. This policy covers only this site. Anything you visit elsewhere has its own policy.

Changes

Material changes are noted on the page, not made quietly.

How to reach us

admin@tiny-task.org, or through the contact page. This policy is governed by the law of United States.
